Star Wars Lore – Commander Faie (Legends)

Too many times we've seen and heard of the catastrophic destruction related to Order 66 – an act which saw clone troopers gun down their Jedi Generals without warning. But what happens when the tables are turned? What happens when the hunters become the hunted?! Well, to answer those very questions, we needn't look any further than the rise and fall of Commander Faie...

Built For Destruction

Manufactured and trained on the watery world of Kamino, Commander Faie was nothing short of the ideal clone. For one, he showed very little interest in developing himself as an individual, choosing to instead embrace his role as some kind of mortal weapon. He also followed orders precisely and without question, thanks in no small part to Alpha-17's specialised training regimen. And while his by-the-book personality often saw him clash with his Jedi superiors, Faie's many traits perfectly prepared him for deeply-harrowing orders that would otherwise crumble regular clones.

Calm Before the Storm

Nearing the conclusion of the Clone Wars, and donning one of his iconic sets of armour that was not too dissimilar to that of a clone engineer, Faie was selected to lead one of three elite battalions in a daring assault on Saleucami. More specifically, he and fellow commanders Gree and Neyo were tasked with destroying a Separatist cloning facility and its many Morgukai warriors. Unfortunately, their ultimate success was undermined by the death of Oppo Rancisis - one of their Jedi superiors.

Order 66

Following the events on Saleucami, Faie was dispatched to Kashyyyk as a means of halting the Separatist march upon Kachirho. During which, he received a startling instruction from Supreme Chancellor Palpatine – one which entailed the destruction of the Jedi Order. Such a devastating feat should have rocked most clone troopers - but then again, Faie was no ordinary commander. And so, he happily raised his blaster in the direction of Jedi Generals Luminara Unduli and Quinlan Vos. He even chased the latter into Kashyyyk's vast, dense and thick jungles. But just as Faie goaded Vos out of hiding, claiming he would call upon an orbital strike to destroy a nearby Wookiee village, the Jedi leaped from a tree above to decapitate the legendary commander where he stood. And just like that, Faie's unyielding quest for a universe without Jedi was swiftly dashed...
